On Mac OS X, such fonts look like normal files in Finder, but from tools like ls (and anything else that uses the POSIX layer) these look like zero byte files. The MACOSX/. files from the Zip file are AppleDouble encoded versions of the combination of the resource fork and some extra Finder.
(Redirected from List of Mac OS X fonts)
This list of fonts contains every font shipped with Mac OS X 10.0 through macOS 10.14, including any that shipped with language-specific updates from Apple (primarily Korean and Chinese fonts). For fonts shipped only with Mac OS X 10.5, please see Apple's documentation.
Mac computers use the Lucida Grande font AFAIK, there’s a download link here - Font Lucida Grande Regular (shh this may be semi-illegal) Once you have the font down on your computer, it’s pretty easy to change the font. Here’s a quick tutorial how. Digital font files appear in many places on a computer, but there are specific default folders for installed fonts on both Windows and Macintosh computers. You'll find three types of fonts on Windows and Mac computers: TrueType, OpenType and Postscript Type 1. Truetype and OpenType fonts consist of a single file each.

A number of fonts have also been provided with iMovie, iLife, iDVD and other Apple applications in hidden folders, for the sole use of these applications. The reason why these fonts are hidden is unknown, with licensing issues suggested as the cause. However, one may easily install them for use by all applications by copying them out of their Library directories and installing them as with any third-party font, although one should always check that the license for the fonts allows them to be used outside the given software.[3]
Notable hidden fonts on macOS include Bank Gothic, Bodoni, Century Gothic, Century Schoolbook, Garamond, several cuts of Lucida and Monotype Twentieth Century.

On Windows 10, you can change the default system font, but to perform this task, you now need to modify the Registry.
In previous versions, such as on Windows 7, you're able to access the personalization settings to change the system font for various desktop elements, including the font for File Explorer, icons, title bars, menus, message box, and more, but starting with Windows 10, the option has been removed, and you're now stuck with the default family font.
However, if you're looking to change the default 'Segoe UI' font, you can still complete this task making some modifications to the Registry.
In this Windows 10 guide, we'll walk you through the steps to change the default system for most desktop elements.
How to change default font on Windows 10
To change the system font on Windows 10, use these steps:
Warning: This is a friendly reminder that editing the Registry is risky, and it can cause irreversible damage to your installation if you don't do it correctly. It's recommended to make a temporary full backup of your PC before proceeding. Alternatively, you can create a system restore point, which will also help you to revert the changes.
- Open Settings.
- Click on Personalization.
- Click on Fonts.
- Click on the font family that you want to use. For example, Arial, Courier New, Verdana, Tahoma, etc.Source: Windows Central
- Open Start.
- Search for Notepad and click the top result to open the app.
- Copy and paste the following registry code onto the text file:
- Replace the ENTER-NEW-FONT-NAME placeholder with the name of the font family exactly as it appears in the title of the settings page. For example, Courier New.Source: Windows Central
- Click the File option.
- Click the Save As option.
- Under the 'Save as type' option, select the All Files option, and name your file anything you want with the .reg extension. For example, change-windows-10-font.reg.Source: Windows Central
- Click the Save button.
- Right-click the '.reg' file and select the Merge option.
- Click the Yes button.
- Click the OK button.
- Restart your device.
Once you complete the steps, you should now see the new font family throughout the desktop elements, including on File Explorer, message box, taskbar, and apps that make use of the default system font.
Restoring default system font
If you want to revert the changes, use the previously created system restore point or follow these steps:
Mac Os Font For Windows
- Open Start.
- Search for Notepad and click the top result to open the app.
- Copy and paste the following registry code onto the text file:
- Click the File option.
- Click the Save As option.
- Under the 'Save as type' option, select the All Files option, and name your file anything you want with the .reg extension. For example, change-windows-10-font.reg.Source: Windows Central
- Click the Save button.
- Right-click the '.reg' file and select the Merge option.
- Click the Yes button.
- Click the OK button.
- Restart your device.
After you complete the steps, the system font should rollback to the previous configuration.
One piece of advice, make sure to select a font style that is easy to understand, as fonts like Webdings or Wingdings use symbols, and they can cause issues on your installation.
